Equus Gazing, Sailing in the Chinese
Kathleen Cullen Fine Arts and gallerysnow are pleased to present a conversation on the relationships between art, text and pictographic history.
In addition to discussing the significance of language and art, the panel will explore text-based artwork by artists such as Ed Ruscha, Christopher Wool, Richard Prince, Joseph Kosuth, Robert Indiana, Bruce Nauman, and Tracy Emin. Equus Gazing, Kathleen Cullen, and Ashish Acharjee will explore the cultural ties and influence of text, language, and art particularly as it pertains to Hindu history, text, and Sanskrit. This lecture is open-ended and all who are interested are encouraged to join this open discussion of text-based art, society, and fashion.

Tally Beck Contemporary is proud to present Laurens Tan's special project for Art Asia Miami, BABALOGIC. Please join us in Booth A4 for a brief presentation by gallery director and art historian Tally Beck and a Q&A session with artist Laurens Tan. Laurens Tan is a dutch-born Chinese artist who is based in both Sydney and Beijing. Tan works in multiple media, sculpture and prints particularly, all of which contain swirling references to and symbols of language, design, and technology, Tan's sculptural work is done extensively in fiberglass and enamel incorporating media and kitsch vernacular. At the core of Tan's work is deconstruction of traditional visual identity, language, and customs.
