ART ASIA Miami 2012, has hired independent curator Jasmine Wahi to expand its program to this December to include South Asian and Middle Eastern Contemporary art. As the Chief Curator Ms Wahi is inviting galleries representing South Asia and the Middle East as the featured guest of ART ASIA Miami this coming December.

To strengthen its commitment and to help support South Asian and Middle Eastern Contemporary art, ART ASIA has enlisted the help and support of influential collectors and supporters of art from this region.

In addition, Ms Wahi will curate Salaam Bombay: Beauty Chaos and Identity within the Urban Environment.  This exhibition will be featured in the ART ASIA Pavilion and explores different elements of urban life - from socio-economic clashes, to political fervor, to the complexly graceful topography of the cosmopolitan landscape. The exhibition will explore the responses of artists who address the city, and the issues most prevalently found in great cities from Bombay to Miami, Lahore to New York. The responses will range from love to hate, passion to indifference, defiance to pro-activity.

ART ASIA Miami is celebrating its 5^th edition.  Since its creation in 2008, ART ASIA’s objective has been to showcase and promote Asian art in Miami.  Continuing that tradition the fair is proud to welcome Jasmine Wahi and the galleries and artists or South Asia and the Middle East to showcase these regions and continue to present the artwork from the complete Asian Diaspora.
